We had a 4 days camping. The campsite was well maintained and clean. Mineral spa pool is an added advantage for the guests. I would recommend for others for a good camping experience.

The facilities here are fine. Clean and well maintained, but our experience with the management was absolutely terrible. No empathy or understanding from the camp manager, around a booking error (not our fault), even going as far as to not allow my parents to wait at the camp entrance to wish my daughter a happy birthday. We made the most of it for our kids, but it really left us feeling disappointed about our time away.
Clean kitchen and bathrooms, playgrounds for kids, pool, and more. Not much to do around though. The closest beach is a 7 min drive to the north. It was a great last night before returning our motorhome in Auckland. Dump station available.
This is the best place to stay the amenities are always spotless there is so much to do other than relaxing and the pet parks are awesome our dogs just love coming to stay, we had a lovely family gathering in March this year all our grandkids had a fabulous visit. Our favourite place within 1hour 45 minutes from our home. We will be back thank you so much team you all do an amazing job of keeping the place tidy and so well run.
Family holiday away with 3 generations. One tenting, 1 in the caravan and 1 in the chalet. All had a great time. A lot to do and very clean. Highly recommend.
It's a very spacious and well set out place. Lots of activities for the children and grown up alike. Very clean amenities. Good rates. If your looking for a lovely spot with the beach close. It's perfect.
We have our family reunion here every year and it is a great location for all ages covering lots of accommodation options and activities for the whole family. The staff are just wonderful andnthye cater for dogs too with lovely fenced …
My experience....where to start!
Firstly, we have been holidaying at Miranda for many years. We started going as it is a great central point for all our family to meet. Our kids loved it and now they are adults, we want, or wanted, to keep this tradition going with our grandchildren.
Rooms are great, well appointed. Grounds are lovely, plenty to do. Location is great, places to see....
However, our experience with the camp owner/ manager was NOT anything positive to write about!
Our first encounter with her, was when one of our kids came to pick us up to take us to the pub for a family dinner. She arrived early and as with other years, I assumed she would come and wait the 20 mins in our room until we left for dinner. Not the case. We were told under no circumstances were visitors allowed. Not even for 20 mins, while we changed for dinner! Never had that here before! This new rule meant that my sister could not join us for a BBQ dinner planned the next night (always happened in the past) and my parents (getting on now) could not come and watch their great grandchild open their Santa sacks on Xmas day! This has NEVER been the case before and we were extremely disappointed.
Our next encounter was on Christmas Eve. My son, (30) had flown up from down south to have Xmas with us. Because we couldn't have visitors, we had gone to my sisters, 10 kms up the road for the BBQ. My daughters and I had gone back to the camp early to put the children to bed. My son decided to borrow my sisters mule (side by side quad bike) to come back to the camp, so no one had to go and get him and my son in law. They had consumed a few beers, but in my opinion would not have been over the limit. My son is a driver for employment, he felt he was fine to drive.
5 mins after they arrived back at the camp, the manager banged on the door....no polite, discrete knock....actually hammered on the door to my daughters apartment. When my daughter answered, the manager began a tirade of anger verging on hysteria. I understand it was 11 o'clock, but that was way beyond reasonable!! I got up because I could hear her yelling from our unit. My daughter was sobbing and asking her please be quiet so as not to wake her children, (2 and 7). The manager continued...'get the f%$# out of my camp, pack your bags and get out, you've ruined my night, I don't give a f%%#' and continued words to this effect.
We managed to calm the situation, and she left with us promising to call into the office in the morning. Her behaviour and language were totally over the top, leaving my daughter beside herself.
The following day was Xmas day and the office was closed.
On boxing day my husband and I left and both my daughters decided to leave a day early, (paid for in advance). My son went to pay for his bed (surprise visit, so we had not booked for him), and was told by a lovely young lady not to worry about the extra charge ($37).
On leaving the camp, my daughter went to drop the key in, to be yet again, confronted by the manager who demanded immediate payment. It was explained that they had gone to pay earlier and been told not to worry. The manager said she didn't care, and pay NOW. Her parting comment was 'don't you ever let anyone drunk drive trough my camp again. You RUINED my Christmas Eve'.
Well, news flash.... we won't ever be back. Her rude and obnoxious manner has killed that for us. I realise this is probably an isolated case, however if this is how a camp manager behaves, I think it's probably time to look at a job outside of hospitality!
